4. Get a decision

When you ask for help with travel costs as part of the Mandatory Special Necessities benefit, the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) sends you a letter to tell you their decision.

If ODSP agrees to pay

If ODSP decides to help pay for your travel costs, they can:

  • add the amount to your monthly
  • pay the company or service that you use, for example, a taxi company

If ODSP refuses to pay

If ODSP refuses to help pay for your travel costs, you may be able to appeal their decision.

For advice and help appealing the decision, talk to a community legal clinic.
