L’adaptation est l’assistance qu’une \u00e9cole ou un conseil scolaire doit fournir \u00e0 un \u00e9l\u00e8ve qui a plus de difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 apprendre ou \u00e0 participer \u00e0 l’\u00e9cole. Le Code des droits de la personne de l’Ontario dit que les conseils scolaires doivent faire ce qu’ils peuvent pour aider les \u00e9l\u00e8ves dont les conditions ou les diff\u00e9rences affectent leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 apprendre. Selon le droit des droits de la personne, ces conditions ou diff\u00e9rences sont appel\u00e9es \u00ab incapacit\u00e9s \u00bb. Mais dans les \u00e9coles, ces diff\u00e9rences ou conditions sont appel\u00e9es des \u00ab anomalies \u00bb.<\/p>\n

Il existe 4 types d’exceptions:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Comportementales, comme le TDAH, la d\u00e9pression, l’anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 ou le trouble oppositionnel avec provocation.<\/li>\n
  2. Communicationnelles, comme l’autisme, la difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 entendre ou \u00e0 parler.<\/li>\n
  3. Intellectuelles, y compris les retards intellectuels mod\u00e9r\u00e9s (RIM), les troubles du d\u00e9veloppement s\u00e9v\u00e8res (TDS) et les surdou\u00e9s.<\/li>\n
  4.
