Un parent peut \u00eatre le p\u00e8re ou la m\u00e8re biologique, un parent non biologique, un parent adoptif ou m\u00eame un beau-parent.<\/p>\n<p>Un parent doit subvenir aux besoins de ses enfants m\u00eame s&#8217;il\u00a0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>n&#8217;habite pas avec eux;<\/li>\n<li>ne les voit jamais;<\/li>\n<li>n&#8217;est pas mari\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#8217;autre parent;<\/li>\n<li>n&#8217;a pas habit\u00e9 avec l&#8217;autre parent;<\/li>\n<li>n&#8217;entretenait pas de relation constante avec l&#8217;autre parent;<\/li>\n<li>a d&#8217;autres enfants issus d&#8217;une relation subs\u00e9quente.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Les pensions alimentaires pour enfants sont distincts du temps parental<\/h3>\n<p>Les pensions alimentaires pour\u00a0enfants et le temps parental sont deux concepts distincts, mais qui constituent tous deux des droits de l&#8217;enfant. On ne peut interdire \u00e0 un parent de rendre visite \u00e0 son enfant au motif qu&#8217;il ne paie pas les pensions alimentaires, et un parent qui n&#8217;a pas le temps parental peut tout de m\u00eame \u00eatre tenu de payer des pensions alimentaires.<\/p>\n<p>Vous pouvez refuser le temps parental uniquement dans certaines circonstances, notamment si vous craignez pour la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l&#8217;enfant. Si vous croyez que votre partenaire ou quelqu&#8217;un chez lui inflige des mauvais traitements \u00e0 votre enfant, vous pourriez devoir appeler les services de protection de l&#8217;enfance.
