Si votre sant\u00e9 mentale a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le dans le crime que vous avez commis, cela peut r\u00e9duire votre peine. Votre responsabilit\u00e9 morale pourrait \u00eatre jug\u00e9e moins grande \u00e0 cause de vos probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 mentale.<\/p>\n

Pour obtenir une peine moins s\u00e9v\u00e8re, vous devez montrer au juge comment vos probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 mentale sont li\u00e9s au crime. C’est important de parler de ces probl\u00e8mes \u00e0 votre avocat pour qu’il puisse bien vous d\u00e9fendre.<\/p>\n

Obtenir un diagnostic<\/h3>\n

Si votre probl\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 mentale n’a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 diagnostiqu\u00e9, votre avocat vous proposera peut-\u00eatre d’aller voir un m\u00e9decin. Le m\u00e9decin pourra voir si vous avez un trouble de sant\u00e9 mentale reconnu, et ce diagnostic pourrait vous aider \u00e0 obtenir une peine moins s\u00e9v\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

Si le juge croit qu’il manque d’information sur votre sant\u00e9 mentale, il peut vous ordonner de vous faire \u00e9valuer par un psychiatre, un m\u00e9decin sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 en sant\u00e9 mentale. Avec cette \u00e9valuation, le psychiatre r\u00e9dige un rapport m\u00e9dical pour donner au juge des renseignements sur votre parcours personnel et vos ant\u00e9c\u00e9dents m\u00e9dicaux. Le rapport peut aussi comprendre son avis sur votre diagnostic.<\/p>\n

Lettres d’appui<\/h3>\n
