Office of the Worker Advisor
The Office of the Worker Advisor is an agency that gives free legal advice and representation to workers:
- who are not unionized
- have been injured at work
- are threatened or punished for following health and safety laws

Legal Aid Ontario funds this legal clinic to offer free legal information and advice, and represent injured workers who have a low income.
Industrial Accident Victims’ Group of Ontario (IAVGO)
Legal Aid Ontario funds this legal clinic to offer free legal advice by telephone or in person to injured workers and their families. They also represent injured workers who have a low income and qualify financially for their services.
They help with workers’ compensation claims, including representing injured workers at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal.
They also help migrant workers dealing with workplace accidents and injuries.
Workers’ Health and Safety Legal Clinic
Legal Aid Ontario funds this legal clinic to offer free legal advice and represent workers who have problems related to health and safety and other employment rights’ issues. They help workers who have a low income and are not part of a union.
Pro Bono Ontario – Free legal advice hotline
The hotline can give you 30 minutes of free legal help and advice over the telephone on civil law matters, which include:
- employment
- housing
- consumer issues
- Powers of Attorney
- corporate law for charities, non-profits, and small businesses
It doesn’t help with family law or criminal law problems.
The hotline generally accepts calls Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
