New child protection flowcharts
Child protection cases can be a long and confusing process. Families involved in a child protection case need to understand the process and their rights and responsibilities.
CLEO has developed 3 flowcharts that explain what happens if the Children’s Aid Society:
- gets a report about a child
- decides a child is in need of protection
- takes the parent or guardian of a child to court
Click on each box of these flowcharts to get more information about what happens at that stage in the process.
There is also information on how to get legal help, what to do if a child is Indigenous, and how to complain about a CAS worker.
