Can I get extra time to submit my ODSP documents because of COVID-19?
Usually, you have 90 days to submit your documents if:
- you’re applying to the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) for the first time, or
- you’re already getting ODSP benefits but have a medical review coming up.
The documents include the forms that your health-care provider must complete.
Getting extra time
You can ask for extra time if you can’t get an appointment with your health-care provider because they’re busy dealing with COVID-19. You do this by calling the at 1-888-256-6758.
This applies if you need to send in:
- a Health Status Report and Activities of Daily Living Index forms for an ODSP application, or
- the Medical Forms for a medical review.
If you’re applying for ODSP and already on OW, you’ll continue to get your OW benefits in the meantime.
If you’re not on OW and you’re in a financial emergency, you may qualify for short-term income assistance.
