I have a hearing or filing deadline at the Federal Court of Appeal. What will happen?
On April 21, 2021, the Federal Court of Appeal announced that it will only hold hearings remotely. This means that participants will not physically come to court. The court will have three types of remote hearings where your lawyer will:
- appear by videoconference,
- attend by teleconference, or
- participate in writing.
The court has also reinstated a suspension period. This means that some hearings or deadlines will not proceed as scheduled. Ask your lawyer how this might affect your case.
Your lawyer must email all scheduling inquiries, appeal books, and application records to the court at: FCARegistry-CAFGreffe@cas-satj.gc.ca.
