Answer

All Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) offices are closed. You can’t deliver your BOC by hand but you can send the signed original and a copy by courier. You can also send your BOC by fax if it is less than 20 pages. Don’t send your BOC by regular mail.

If you made your refugee claim at the Port of Entry (POE) and your BOC was due on or after February 15, 2020 the Refugee Board has extended the deadline. This extension does not apply to refugee claims that were declared abandoned before March 15, 2020.

The IRB has not yet given a date that it will re-open. When the IRB does re-open, you will have 30 days from that date to file your BOC. Check the IRB website for information about when the IRB will re-open.
