Answer

Long delays for appeal hearings

If you're appealing a decision made by OW or ODSP in 2020, your appeal hearing may not happen for a long time. People report that they're getting hearing dates from the Social Benefits Tribunal that are between 9 and 16 months in the future. We'll update this information as things change.

Ontario Works (OW) and the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) are no longer giving people extra money related to COVID-19.

Between May and July 31, 2020, you could get an extra $100 to $200 to help with COVID-19 expenses. This benefit has now ended.

Other options

If you have had to stop working because of COVID-19, you may be eligible for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB). Read more in Who can get the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) and how do I apply?
