Get legal help

Family law court forms can be difficult to understand and fill out. It's a good idea to talk to a lawyer before you fill out your forms and file them. A lawyer can make sure your forms are correctly filled out and you have all the documents you need.

If you can't afford to hire a lawyer for your whole case, some lawyers provide “unbundled services” or “limited scope retainer” services. This means you pay them to help you with part of your case, such as filling out your forms.

If you can't afford to hire a lawyer at all, you may be able to find legal help in other places.
