I have a hearing coming up at the Social Benefits Tribunal. Should I go?

On March 19, 2020 the government announced that all in-person hearings at the (SBT) were postponed and would be rescheduled to a later date. Make sure to watch for phone calls or notices in the mail with your new hearing date. If you're represented by a lawyer or paralegal, make sure to tell them right away if the Tribunal contacts you.

The Tribunal is now holding all hearings by phone or in writing. If you don't have access to a phone or phone service, or if you need to ask for an adjournment, contact the Tribunal by email at SBT.Registrar@ontario.ca, fax 416-326-5135, or mail within 15 days of the Notice of Hearing. Keep in mind that if you use mail, there may be processing delays. The Tribunal will decide adjournments on a case-by-case basis.
