3. Accepting responsibility

You may have to accept responsibility for what people say you did before you're allowed to have . This is not usually a formal process.

It might involve discussion with a diversion intake worker about why you committed the . The diversion intake worker might also discuss whether:

  • you learned a lesson from being charged
  • you understand that committing offences is wrong
  • you understand what can happen when you do something criminal

Any discussions you have with diversion workers are confidential. They can't be used against you in court later.
