2. Tell your supervisor

Always report any injury to your supervisor as soon as possible. You should do this no matter how small you think the injury is.

If you can't report it right away, make sure to report it before you leave your workplace for the day.

If you don't report your injury right away, it might be hard or even impossible to prove later that it happened at work.

Ask your supervisor if there are any rules that your employer says you have to follow. For example, your employer might have a rule that says you have to see a doctor right away.

If your employer has these kinds of rules, you can ask your supervisor to help you follow them.

If your workplace has a health and safety representative or a Joint Health and Safety Committee, you should also tell them about your injury. And if you belong to a or trade association, you should also let them know.
