4. Give your closing statement

After both you and your landlord present and cross-examine all the witnesses, you can each give a closing statement.

In your closing statement, you tell the member why you should get the orders you're asking for. Your statement should be based on:

  • what the witnesses have said
  • the documents that have been used as 
  • the rules and laws that apply to your case

You give your statement first, then your landlord. After your landlord, you have a last chance to speak but only about anything new that your landlord raises in their closing statement.
