I’m taking my landlord to the LTB. How do I present my case?
Question & AnswerI’m taking my landlord to the LTB. How do I present my case?
4. Give your closing statement
After both you and your landlord present and cross-examine all the witnesses, you can each give a closing statement.
In your closing statement, you tell the Board member why you should get the orders you are asking for. It should be based on:
- what the witnesses have said
- the documents that have been used as evidence
- the rules and laws that apply to your case
You go first, then your landlord. After your landlord, you have a last chance to speak but only about anything new that your landlord raises in their closing statement.
