Filing tenant applications

You can file in person at many ServiceOntario Centres. You can pay the filing fee by cash, credit card, debit card, certified cheque or money order. Certified cheques and money orders must be made payable to the Minister of Finance. The LTB will not accept an ordinary uncertified cheque.
You can file your application by mail. You must complete and include a Credit Card Payment Form if you're paying by credit card.
You can fax your application to 1-833-610-2242 or (416) 326-6455. You can only use fax if the application is free or if you have a fee waiver. And you should only use fax for urgent applications. For example, you can use fax if you have a deadline very soon or if you can't use any of the other filing options.
You can also file your application online. How you file online will depend on the type of application:
- To file a T1, T2, T5, or T6, use the Tribunals Ontario Portal.
- To file other types of tenant applications, you must first pay your fee online using a credit card or debit card. After you pay, you can email your application and payment receipt to the LTB at ltbpayments@ontario.ca.
Remember: You might qualify for a fee waiver. If you use a fee waiver, you don't have to pay for your application.
