2. Bring someone with you for support

I'm appealing a decision about ODSP income support. What happens at my hearing with the Social Benefits Tribunal?
This question has an answer and 5 steps

2. Bring someone with you for support

The Social Benefits Tribunal (SBT) will usually let you have someone with you for support. This can be a family member, friend, or other support person.

Someone who comes with you for support is not allowed to speak at the hearing. So, if someone is coming with you as a witness, they can’t be your support person as well.

The SBT can let your support person sit through the hearing with you. A witness has to wait outside the hearing room until they come in to give their evidence.
