Updated information on Toronto’s domestic violence court
Steps to Justice has updated information on Toronto’s Integrated Domestic Violence Court (IDVC). The court deals with family and criminal law cases that involve partner abuse. Both cases are heard by the same judge.
But the IDVC does not hear all family law cases. It cannot hear cases that involve:
- divorce
- property division
- child protection
If you do not live in Toronto, you have to go to family court for your family law issues and criminal court for criminal charges.
