New criminal law tool

Steps to Justice has a new tool to help people apply for a record suspension. The Record Suspension Checklist lists the steps to apply for a record suspension. This includes how to :

• check eligibility,
• get a certified criminal record check, and
• submit the application and documents.

With a record suspension, a person’s criminal convictions do not show up on most police record checks. A record suspension used to be called a pardon.
