New Guided Pathways to request a reconsideration or appeal a CPP-D decision
CLEO has new Guided Pathways to help people take steps if their application for Canada Pension Plan disability (CPP-D) benefits is denied. CPP-D provides income assistance to people who can’t earn a living because of a severe and prolonged disability, and meet other eligibility requirements. The pathways explain these requirements.
People can use a pathway to fill out the form to ask Service Canada to reconsider their decision to deny them CPP-D benefits. If Service Canada denies their request for reconsideration, people can use another pathway to fill out the form to appeal the decision to the Social Security Tribunal – General Division.
The pathways help users gather the information and documents they need. When they complete the pathways, they have to download and submit their documents themselves. The pathways provide instructions on how to do this.
The pathways are accessible from both CLEO’s Steps to Justice and the Social Security Tribunal of Canada’s website.
CLEO’s Guided Pathways are free online tools that take users through a series of questions and collect their answers to fill out legal forms. Any personal information they enter into the pathways is confidential.
