New rules for sending refugee documents

New minimum wage rates

Steps to Justice has updated information about the minimum wage increase that took effect on October 1, 2025.

The new minimum wage amounts are:

  • Most jobs: $17.60 an hour
  • Homeworkers: $19.35 an hour
  • Students 17 and younger: $16.60 an hour

New ODSP rates

Steps to Justice has updated information on the amount someone can get from the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP). On July 1, the amount went up by 2.8%.

The basic ODSP rate for a single person who gets the highest shelter allowance is now $1,408 a month. It was $1,368.

Updates on HRTO applications

Steps to Justice has updated information about making an application to the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO). Starting June 1, 2025, if someone applies to the HRTO, they must attend a mediation before their hearing.
