Guided Pathway for obtaining a court order on consent

CLEO’s Guided Pathway for obtaining a court order on consent is for people who are in the family law court process and have reached an agreement about some or all of their issues.

The pathway helps you fill out the forms you need to get a court order, based on the terms or details you and the other party, often your partner or ex-partner, agree on. This court order is called a consent order because you both consent or agree.

The Guided Pathways ask you a series of questions about your situation, give you information to help answer them, and create documents based on your answers.

Fill out Form 14B and Form 25 using CLEO’s Guided Pathways

When you’re finished, you can save or print your forms. You will also get instructions about how to give them to the court.

Who is this guided pathway for?

You can use this pathway to ask for a temporary or final order for the following issues that you and the other party agree on:

  • parenting, including decision-making responsibility and parenting time
  • child support
  • spousal support
  • property
  • disclosure, including disclosure of financial information
  • other issues you and the other party agree on

Who is this guided pathway not for?

If you’ve already drafted an order and sent it to the court, but it was rejected, you should not use this pathway. Instead, follow the instructions from the court clerk or endorsement with the rejection to revise and resubmit your draft order.

If you already have a final court order and want to change it, you should not use this pathway even if you and the other party agree on the changes. There are other pathways for this:

If you’re not sure whether to use this pathway, talk to a lawyer.

What do you need?

  • information about yourself, including your address

  • information about the terms to be included in the order
  • a copy of minutes of settlement or written consent signed by you and the other party
  • a copy of the judge’s endorsement, if you have one, outlining the terms you and the other party agree on
