Steps to Justice has updated information for tenants when their former landlord asks for money because of damage. Usually, landlords must now go to the Landlord and Tenant Board to ask for money, instead of Small Claims Court. Landlords cannot keep a rent or key deposit because there's been damage to a unit.

CLEO’s On The Radar – Landlord and Tenant Board using case conferences to tackle backlog of tenant applications
Ontario's Ombudsman recently reported on the "excruciatingly long delays" and severe backlogs at the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB). This included taking up to 2 years to schedule some tenant applications.
In July, as a way to address this, the LTB began scheduling adjudicative case conferences.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has an online portal for submitting applications for permanent residence. This is part of the government's efforts to "digitize and modernize".
