When the Code does not apply

Canadian Human Rights Act

Some industries are covered by laws made by the Government of Canada. This includes banks, airlines, some trucking businesses, and broadcasting. The Government of Canada’s website has a more complete list.

Employers in these industries must follow the Canadian Human Rights Act. The Canadian Human Rights Commission deals with complaints against these employers.
