What can CAS do if they think my child is being abused or neglected?After an initial screening to check on your child, a (CAS) might offer support services to your family.
For example, the CAS worker might help you:
- go to a parenting course
- get addictions counselling
- plan your budget or meals
They can also refer your family to other places that can help. This is sometimes called providing a “community link”.
For example, if you need help managing your teenager's behaviour, the CAS worker might refer you to a therapist.
You can also ask CAS if you can get help from an organization that knows your culture or speaks your language.
