2. Do not communicate with people in the no contact order

If you communicate with the people named in your no contact order, you could be charged with failing to comply. Do not communicate by phone, email, text, Skype, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat or in any way. Do not meet with them in public or private places.

You may think no one will find out you did not follow the no contact order. That would be a mistake.

For example, a no contact order is a common bail condition in a domestic assault. Yet couples who hope to get back together may ignore the accused person's bail conditions. They may even resume their relationship, which is a breach of the no contact condition. It is dangerous to assume that you will not be found in breach of your bail. It is also dangerous to assume that your partner will not tell the police that you have breached your bail. A vindictive or jealous ex-spouse may not keep secrets well.

You will be charged with a criminal offence if you do not follow a no contact order. And it will be very difficult for you to get bail if you're re-arrested.
