If my landlord gives me an eviction notice, do I have to move?You can only be evicted for the reasons set out in the Residential Tenancies Act.
Your landlord must use a Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) form that already has the reason for the eviction. And the form has a list where your landlord must choose the reason.
You should check the LTB's list of reasons for eviction.
If the does not give a proper reason, or does not give enough details, the LTB can decide that your landlord cannot use the notice to you. You will probably have to go to an LTB hearing to make this argument.
