If you paint without your landlord’s permission

You can paint without getting permission. But if your landlord has a problem with it, they could apply to the LTB. You probably won't get evicted just for painting but you might have to pay your landlord the cost for repairs. For example, the LTB could decide that you caused damage if you:

• paint over varnished furniture
• wallpaper or panel the walls
• leave paint stains
