4. Learn what you can do
Question & Answer
What must my employer put on my pay stub?If your employer did not pay what they owe you, you might be able to get the money.
You can do this by making a claim with the Ministry of Labour.
And if your employer did not give you pay stubs, the Ministry can order them to start giving them to you.
But it's a good idea to try solving the problem with your employer first.
Most people do not make claims against an employer they're still working for. This is because the laws to protect workers do not stop employers from firing their workers. And if you’re fired, it's up to you to take action against the employer to get what they owe you.
You have up to 2 years to make a claim from the date the employer owed you or pay stubs.
