2. Avoid causing damage

If you damage the property when installing your security camera, you might have to pay to get it fixed or pay for the landlord's cost of getting it fixed. For example, there could be damage if you drill through doors, walls, or the outside of the building.

It's a good idea to take pictures of the area before and after you install the camera. This can help prove that you did not cause damage when you put the camera up.

If you do not agree to pay or fix damage that you caused, your landlord could apply to the (LTB) to make you pay for repairs. The landlord could also give you an eviction notice.
