1. Note the defendant in default

In Toronto, the Justice Services Online portal closes on October 3, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. The new Ontario Courts Public Portal (OCPP) opens on October 14 to documents for:  

  • Civil proceedings 
  • Small Claims Court  
  • Family Court  

Between October 4 and October 16, documents must be filed in person at the court. 

To use the e-filing service to ask the court to note the in default:

  1. Log in to your ONe-key account.
  2. Click My existing claims. Click Next Steps. Your claim should be at Step 3.
  3. Read the instructions and tips. Then click Note in default.
  4. Select the defendants you want to note in default and complete the statement.

There is a fee of $94 to do this. You can use a MasterCard or Visa credit card, or Interac Online to pay the filing fees.
