5. Get a decision

The Social Security Tribunal – Appeal Division (SST – Appeal Division) has a usual timeline for when you will get a decision. This is within 60 days after your hearing.

If you have a representative, they will get it too.

The SST also puts all final Appeal Division decisions on its website.

If you disagree with the decision

If you disagree with the decision, you can apply for a judicial review to the Federal Court or the Federal Court of Appeal.

The cover letter that comes with your Appeal Division decision will tell you which court to apply to.

Get legal help

It's a good idea to contact your local community legal clinic for information and advice about a judicial review. They can talk to you about the strength of your case, options, and possible outcomes.
