Learn about your options if you have issues with safety at work

You can refuse to do a task your employer gives you if you think it's dangerous for you or someone else.

You don't have to ask anyone for permission and you don't have to talk to your union. But you do have to tell your supervisor or employer as soon as possible. You have to tell them why you think the task is not safe.

And if your employer punishes or threatens to punish you for acting on your right, you may be able to make a complaint to the Ontario Labour Relations Board. You may be able to do this instead of using the process in your collective agreement. Or you might be able to do both.
