3. Tell the service manager if you have a good reason for refusing an offer
Service managers can keep you on the waitlist if they think you had a good reason to:
- say no to a home offer, or
- miss a step in the acceptance process.
Here are the most common reasons why service managers might decide to keep you on the waitlist, even if you said no to a housing offer:
- You were very sick in hospital when they made the offer.
- You were in a treatment or rehab facility when they made the offer.
- The home they are offering is in the same building or very close to a building where your abuser lives.
If the doesn't accept your reason, you can ask for a review of their decision.
