- what happened, and
- what people said.
Keep notes
It's best to make the notes when things happen. Send the notes to yourself by email if you can. This can help to prove the date that you made the notes.
Try to include information about:
- the date, time, and place
- who did or said things
- who saw or heard what happened
- what you did at the time
Save messages
Save any messages you get that say something that discriminates against you. These might be emails, texts, or social media messages.
Get copies of policies and rules
If the relates to a policy or rule that your employer has, get a printed copy of the policy or rule.
