3. Prepare to move if your landlord says no

Your landlord doesn't have to agree to let you continue your tenancy or even give you more time to move out. Your landlord can apply to the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) to evict you.

The landlord doesn't have to wait until the day you said you would move out to apply. And when the landlord files this type of application, the LTB usually issues an order terminating the tenancy without holding a hearing.

If the LTB agrees with your landlord's application, you will get an eviction order in the mail or by email. The earliest date you can be evicted is the termination day you put in your notice.
