Beware of scams
People have been getting phone calls with a pre-recorded message telling them their Ontario Works account has been deleted.
This is a scam to trick you into sharing your personal information. If you get a call like that, hang up the phone. You can report these calls to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.

Can I get OW money while waiting for an OW appeal decision?When the (SBT) decides you can get , they send an order to your local Ontario Works (OW) office.
If OW disagrees
If the SBT orders OW to pay you interim assistance, OW might not agree that you should get it.
If this happens, OW has to object by writing to the SBT within 7 days of getting the SBT order. OW has to say why they don't agree.
They must also give you a copy of what they send to the SBT.
You have 7 days to write to the SBT to say why you should get interim assistance. You must also give a copy to the OW office.
The SBT then decides whether to change the order it made.
